From the start of our travels, we have had many days at sea. Our most recent journey through Antarctica, Chile and onward to Easter Island has been filled with many more sea days that are anything but dull – despite a few instances when Suzanne struggles with her sea legs. The ship offers a variety of wonderful activities to keep us occupied, including lectures (onsite and virtual), wine tastings, special culinary events, gym workouts to help offset them, movie nights, book club discussions, and even a scavenger hunt.
Additionally, card games stand out as particularly enjoyable; Richard is trying to learn to play Bridge while Suzanne has been honing her skills in 5 Card Draw Poker with the “Call Girls,” experiencing both wins and losses along the way.
Afternoon tea has also become a delightful social highlight, featuring specialty teas, scones with clotted cream, and an array of delectable snacks (because there is never enough). These sea days have provided an excellent opportunity to connect with our fellow residents, and we have been fortunate to form a wonderful community that we know will lead to lasting friendships.
