Where in the World is Madagascar?

The fourth-largest island in the world, located off the east coast of Africa is Madagascar.  It broke off from the African continent some 88 million years ago and as a result, much of the existing plant and animal life evolved there and cannot be found anywhere else in the world.  In addition to the unique flora and fauna, Madagascar is famous for its vanilla, baobob trees, lemurs, and of course, the movie…  Once part of the colonial France, today Madagascar, with it’s sandy white beaches is home to 33 million people.

After 5 days, we continue to make our way around the island, taking time to meet the friendly people, explore their unique culture and do some scuba diving, snorkeling and hiking. We can’t wait to see the rest of it.
